If there is something that you want to achieve or just wanting to be in a better space when it comes to your daily life, master the art of being AWARE. This is the first step in finding a form of balance. Be aware of your thoughts, your emotions, your actions and your reactions. When we can be aware of where we spend most of our time – here is it your thoughts or your emotions, we can then have the power to change.
If you are wanting better health – be aware of what food you are eating, how you are eating, what kind of physical activity you are doing.
If you want to achieve more money – be aware of your current financial status, what are you thoughts and emotions about your finances etc.
The more we are AWARE the easier it is to change. It is not about being positive all the time and it is not about not being negative. Its ok to be in a neutral space wherein you do not need to have a positive or a negative thought or emotion. Remember, it is also ok to have a negative thought/emotion but it is not beneficial if that thought/emotion stays with you and then decides to live with you. Practice AWARENESS and when you find yourself having a negative thought/emotion, pause for a bit and question what is causing it ( reflective journaling helps) then move on. That same thought/emotion may visit you 20 times a day and that’s ok, you just need to be AWARE, deal with it and move on.
In time you will find that the negative thought/emotion will visit you less frequently and this is how you know you are dealing with it.
Now, AWARENESS is the first step but employing DISCIPLINE to deal with it is what counts. Without your EFFORT, things don’t change. What’s the point of being aware and not do anything about it.
Suggestion : When a negative thought/emotion tends to put you off balance, one method I use is to have a trigger affirmation. Hence, when a negative thought/emotion visits me, I use a positive affirmation to push it away.
What are you pushing away? A thought/emotion that seems to be a constant in your life but really does not have any effect in your present moment.
Eg : You have dealt with say financial lack most of your life and your mental and emotional body tends to be aligned in that space of lack. You find yourself constantly thinking of that. If a negative thought like, I really don’t know why my life is so difficult, turn use your affirmation.

I also use the mantra, Om Namah Shivaya.
This method has allowed me to better manage and deal with my negative thoughts/emotions. Slowly but surely, this has made me more focus on things I want to DO.
