Shorts – Responsibility

‘They made me the keeper of the vineyards; but mine own vineyard have I not kept’
(Solomon 1:6)

The above phrase taken for the Bible seems to be something relatable to most of us. We hear many asking, demanding and shouting for freedom or that leaders be more responsible but in today’s shorts we are looking at ourselves.

How responsible are you for your thoughts, your emotions and your actions? Do you tend to spend more time looking at another’s vineyard and not your own? Your life is your responsibility. Your parents (this is if you actually grew up in a relatively ‘normal’ home) had a responsibility for you until a certain age but as you grew up you become the keeper of your own life.

Without being responsible for your life, you cannot then say you want to be independent or free, you cannot make change.

When we claim that we are responsible for our lives we are then empowering ourselves. It is with this power that we make changes. Without responsibility we allow blame and blame does not take us anywhere.

If you want to change your life, be responsible for it first and tend to your own life.

Take care everyone. Be kind to yourself and to others.
