How long can you hold a positive thought? When good news is shared how long do we talk about it? Do you spend more time on memories that have hurt you or that which makes you smile?
I personally think that for most of us, being in a positive space, especially when doing nothing can be boring. I mean the thrill or the juicy stuff is in the negative – knowing what is the latest gossip about someone in your circle is more entertaining.
That is the strange thing about this world – here we are trying to work on being more positive when all around us we see news that brings doom and gloom, hot news about what those who are in the entertainment industry are into, products that makes feels us we need them when in fact we don’t. Internally, we struggle with our own demons – stress, worry, depression, addiction etc.
So we start seeking, we may seek for different things but the essential question we need to ask is whether what we seek is truly for ourselves rather than getting caught up in the hype.
The key to everything is awareness and this cannot be implemented solely by teaching but rather by your own effort and action. It is to be aware of your thoughts and actions, it is to be aware of what conversations you are in. It is to allow yourself to be the master of your thoughts and emotions. It is a hard thing to do when the world is now more focus on us being distracted.
If you want to explore yourself you need to be aware that the journey of self-discovery is a personal journey, it is solely for you and you need to be your own boss and cheerleader.
Start each day by being aware of where your mind, emotions and physical body are at and try and move into a more positive space throughout the day. It doesn’t mean that you can’t catch up on the latest news or gossip or whatever not but through awareness you try and live your life in a space of positivity – nurture your thoughts and emotions to be positive. Try and thrive in a space of positive and/or in neutrality – you will feel a shift.
Take care everyone and be kind to yourself and to others.
