Being Busy Isn’t Bad

We always hear that it is important to have a work-life balance or we need to take time for ourselves. Being too busy may lead to mental, emotional and even physical imbalances. On a personal front I find that being busy does have its positives. When we tend to keep ourselves busy with some activity, it does prevent the mind from having unnecessary thoughts.

There are those of us that need to keep busy, retiring will not actually be a ‘healthy’ option. Working for some of us is the balance we need in our lives and then we may find that other areas tend to balance out. As always, balance is important – if we tend to over work and then not focus on other areas of our lives – our health, relationships etc, – this will tend cause a whole of other issues.

I do think that humans are not equipped to just do nothing – We sometimes say – I just want to quit what I am doing and do nothing. If nothing means just not working but having something else to do, that is fine – but not having a purpose may in time make us feel down.

Let’s not be too harsh on our busy lives, if you find yourself tired and frustrated about being too busy then an adjustment maybe required. For those who thrive in being busy – if you enjoy it then carry on. However, remember if you have other roles to meet and if your health takes a toll then find some balance.

Take care everyone and remember to be kind to yourself and to others.
