Self Help

What is self -help? To me personally it is about bettering ourselves. There can be areas in our lives that we feel we ought to change or better.

Self-help is a very personal journey, it is about ourselves. It is definitely not about what social media says it is, it not about trying to follow someone. Your role is to examine yourself and see if there is something YOU want to work on.

Once you decide that, then you will find a mountain of information about how to better yourself. We need to remember, self-help does not necessarily mean there is something wrong with you, it means that you want to better something about you and being better at something.

It is not about waking up at 5am, having cold showers, drinking tea. It’s not about other people telling you that you need to change your life. The challenge is when you see others do, you think it is something you need to do but you may not necessarily need to do the things mentioned above.

If you for a moment think that the illusionary term of ‘a self-help teacher/guru’ is going to change your life, think again, no one is going to change you, only you can and you help yourself. Someone can teach you or share their experiences but you need to tailor make it for you and you need to do the work – hence, self help and not teacher is here to help.

As much as there are tonnes of information out there, make it simple, work on what you need and not what others say and above all else, the best way to help yourself is by consistency and discipline.

Change is only required if you feel and want it, if you are comfortable as you are then be ok with that. Sometimes, it’s really ok to just be you.
